People didn’t “visit” Cryptsy. They loitered, treating it as an important source of market action and rumor. They had tabs open, graphs and charts flickering over a quick period of time. Users were experiencing price surges and vanishing liquidity and chat users typed a selfassured rocket emoji, which was indicative of a lack of confidence in the activity.
People purchasing altcoins were fishing in a dirty lake. The number of altcoin listings were enormous with names such as breakfast cereals, sci-fi characters and nonsensical phrases. There was some altcoind that did move fast and some that did not move at all. Investors were blindly putting their money in dead stocks and hoping that a stock will come to life.
The withdrawal process of users took more than 5 minutes and involved several clicks of the buttons, a short pause and a refresh, all of which were necessary to contain the minor panic. The sporadic stalling and lack of responsiveness of the buttons did not make the withdrawal experience of the users better. The delays were passed and guessed at in forums by the users.
The users were excessively positive and in a high trust situation that was based on feeble confidence, and lacking a massive foundation. There were security issues, which were raised before what was suspected to be a spontaneous Cryptsy farewell.
The larger the cracks started to grow in the crypto sphere, the more people started panicking and checking their accounts, sending screen shots to one another. Temperaments started to flare up and individuals ceased to laugh. Money does this. All delays were easily becoming personal.
The behavior in the crypto sphere changed and wallets did not seem a geeky product anymore. Cold wallets and self custody had become a normal thing. Trades started reversing their functions. They were no longer vaults. They became transit stops. Don’t sleep there. Keep moving.
The human cost was the behavioral change. Lost opportunities and lost savings. They were narrating stories regarding this phenomenon that would cease. Tone mattered. Some people were hurt. Some were supposed to be hurt. Both reactions made sense.
Users of the crypto sphere have the opportunity to monitor the pressure of platforms. They perceive the delay, the pressure in the hands of the platform and they perceive the pressure in the hands of the platform. This sort of behavior was taught to people by history.
White fear and updating the pages were the peers and harassers of the crypto-youth. They were testing the pages and now they observe how a platform is going to act under pressure and they observe how the platform acts. The friends and stalkers of the crypto world are the pressure in the hands of the platform and pressure in the hands of the platform.
